To capture the true essence of this destination, we turned our lenses toward the life that unfolds just beyond the resort. We followed the gentle pace of the coast, documenting the local fishermen as they navigated the morning surf. Through these unscripted, everyday moments, we aimed to highlight the authentic spirit of a community that remains intimately connected to the ocean.
BEYOND THE FRAME
Quiet freedom
This same sense of peaceful freedom is reflected in the island's wildlife. We moved alongside Sumba’s iconic free-roaming horses, capturing their natural elegance as they walked along the empty white-sand beaches and bathed in the crystal waters. Rather than directing these scenes, we chose to be quiet observers, allowing the unhurried beauty of the animals to naturally shape our visual narrative.
