Beyond the resort's architecture, the ocean sets the pace of daily life. We spent our days by the turquoise reef, photographing the quiet dedication of local fishermen casting their nets and the raw energy of surfers riding the pristine waves. Capturing these unscripted scenes helps ground the property in its authentic coastal setting.

To truly understand Sumba, you have to look at its raw energy. We documented the island’s famous free-roaming horses racing along the white-sand beaches, and the barefoot joy of local children playing in the surf. These unscripted, spontaneous moments bring the destination to life.

Instead of staying within the estate, we ventured out to document the raw beauty of the region itself. We explored hidden lagoons, rushing waterfalls, and traditional Marapu villages with their towering, iconic roofs.
